Here we will post some basic information about the travel to or in Kyoto.

Kyoto is one of the biggest cities in Japan, located between Tokyo and Osaka. It is the most popular city for foreign visitors due to its historical atmosphere. You should be able to find a number of (English) pages on Kyoto, some of which we will make links here in the near future.

Unfortunately Kyoto does not have airport. You should first fly to some of international airports in Japan, and then take trains to get to Kyoto. The most popular ways are

• Via Kansai airport (KIX): Kansai airport is located in Osaka, and it is about 80 min. to Kyoto by train.
• Via Tokyo airport (NRT/HND): There are two international airports in Tokyo—Narita (NRT) and Haneda (HND). From both airports, Kyoto is about 3.5 hours by train.
